Melanie Wu

I’ve always been drawn to moments when the world feels slightly out of place.
A familiar street becomes strangely quiet. A forest seems to hold its breath. Someone looks out of a window, and you wonder what they can see that you cannot. Those are the moments I like to draw.
I’m an illustrator and visual storyteller working internationally from my studio. Through fine lines, expressive colour, and a touch of imagination, I create narrative and conceptual images for editorial, publishing, culture, and visual campaigns.
Since graduating from the University of Edinburgh, I’ve worked with clients including Philosophy Now, Superpower Agency, and Islander, among others.
I’m interested in images that suggest more than they explain — a story, a feeling, or a world continuing just beyond the frame.
